Teaching methods
The course is fully online and asynchronous, allowing participants to learn at their own pace. Learning relies on short multimedia videos (in Portuguese with English subtitles) and supporting PDF documents (in English). Each module includes a self-assessment quiz requiring a minimum score of 70%. At the end, participants submit a practical assignment by creating a simple webpage. This approach promotes autonomy, digital literacy, and practical skill development without the need for direct instructor support.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the key components of web architecture and explain how they interact to deliver web content.
- Have an understanding of basic functioning of the web, including how browsers, servers, and protocols work together.
- Summarize the historical development of HTML and its role in web evolution.
- Identify and apply the basic structural elements of an HTML document.
- Use essential HTML tags to create simple webpage content and structure.
- Demonstrate proper formatting and organization of HTML code.

Assessment
For the trainee to obtain the completion certificate, they will need to obtain a score higher than 70% in each of the 3 Quiz and, in addition, they must also solve and submit the practical exercise in .zip format to the platform.
